Arising from many years experience of implementing practical advanced automated visual systems utilising statistical modelling techniques, we have been undertaking basic research into new techniques aiming to deliver levels of capability and ease of use so far unattainable in currently available systems. Other technologies include automated inspection platforms designed for defect detection, dimensional gauging and other applications, and a range of 2D and 3D vision capabilities.
Surveillance
Our new imaging science software technology, in combination with the latest in high resolution digital imaging and processing modules, result in industry leading, flexible and robust plug & play systems for Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and Vehicle Type/Model identification. See the links below for demonstration movies in WMV format.
- Automatic number plate reading
- People counting
- Target designation and tracking
- Vehicle model identification
Inspection
Automated inspection includes defect detection, dimensional measurement, variant recognition. Listed below are some examples of projects we have undertaken.
- Printed circuit boards
- Packaged electronic components
- Hybrid circuits
- Silicon wafer, and singulated die
- Paper products
- Ceramic products
- Medical devices
- Fuel cell components
- Formed tubes
- Instrument calibration verification
Biomedical imaging

- 2D Ultrasound motion analysis
- 3D MRI reconstruction, segmentation and interpretation
- Dental landmark identification and jaw shape analysis
Web Services
With the deployment of high bandwidth wide area networks there are increasing opportunities of offer imaging applications as a web-service. In the past these applications would have been served through a classical software distribution model. The advantages of web based services are:
- Rapid response to changing market conditions
- Rapid, highly effective customer support
- Cost effective deployment of sophisticated capabilitie
