Arising from many years experience of implementing practical advanced automated visual systems utilising statistical modelling techniques, we have been undertaking basic research into new techniques aiming to deliver levels of capability and ease of use so far unattainable in currently available systems. Other technologies include automated inspection platforms designed for defect detection, dimensional gauging and other applications, and a range of 2D and 3D vision capabilities.

Image appearance statistical modelling

We are experts in the field of image modelling, and have developed and applied for patent protection for a technology platform which employs new methods in the field. Our goal with these techniques is to create application systems and imaging products which have zero deployment costs for both users and suppliers.

Image analysis deployment tools

Our objective was to create the freedom to apply the most appropriate image analysis technology to problems, releasing the user from the requirement to use particular hardware solutions, because they happen to be the ones provided with the software. We developed technology which sits between image analysis applications and their hardware, to allow chosen applications to run on hardware platforms of choice.

Inspection platforms

For use in well defined applications, typically in the field of automated industrial inspection.

We have two types of bench-top inspection platforms suitable for use for defect detection and precision measurement applications. They can be used in support of feasibility studies, or can be purchased by clients for use in their manufacturing processes. Although the systems are designed for investigative work, they can also be used for regular off-line automated inspection operations.

Implementation framework for 3D vision solutions

At first glance many applications appear to require 2D vision...any applications involving accurate measurement, even of objects which are notionally 2 dimensional, require an element of 3D capability. We have the technology infrastructure to allow us to deploy a range of 3D techniques, tuned to the needs of particular applications.
